In what has to be one of the strangest starts to a season ever, Sporting Fort Worth has teams that have played 3 out of a possible 4 games, and some that have yet to play a single minute.

I want to remind everyone that FWASA has no control over when the fields are closed. This is determined by the City of Fort Worth Parks and Recreation Department.

I also want to remind everyone that the City of Fort Worth takes money out of their own pocket when they have to close the fields. They don’t do this lightly. They do this so that the quality of the fields does not suffer as it has in other cities.

Trust me, as much of a pain as it was to enjoy the beautiful weather last Sunday, the fields were absolutely soaked – we would’ve damaged them beyond repair.

Everyone stay strong, stay fit, and stay positive. FWASA and the City will work on making sure we get all our games in.

A Life Remembered

Sporting Fort Worth has lost one of our own.
Greg Reynolds, who played for our SFW Blue Over 30 team, passed away on October 19, 2017 at the terribly young age of 37. We wish to express our condolences to Greg’s family during this difficult time, but most especially to Greg’s brother, Cedrick, a long-time member of the Club who still plays for Rahr United.
Sporting Fort Worth will be making a donation to the family to help offset funeral expenses, and we ask that you please consider doing the same. As with many situations where a life is gone WAY before its time, the family could use some help.
Please consider donating one of the amounts below. 100% of the amount donated will be passed on to the Reynolds family.
Thank you.
Richard Llanes
GM, Sporting Fort Worth
